The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation provides grants to members of the Penn community, including students, faculty, staff, departments, programs, and centers. Applicants must have a current affiliation with Penn that is anticipated to extend through the completion of any funded project. Non-full-time faculty and staff must also have been employed at Penn for at least one academic year before they are eligible to apply. Grants are available through specific funding tracks, by which we offer opportunities to all Penn affiliates including individuals, schools, departments, centers, programs and institutes. Some funding tracks are limited to specific groups, as outlined below.
- Ben Art Bucks
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as student groups, are eligible to apply for Ben Art Bucks. - Student Arts Innovation Grants
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as student groups, are eligible to apply for Student Arts Innovation Grants. - Arts Course Development
Faculty (standing and non-standing) are eligible to apply for Arts Course Development Grants. - Arts Integration Grant
Faculty (standing and non-standing) are eligible to apply for Arts Integration Grants. - First-Year Seminar Grants
Faculty members currently teaching or scheduled to teach a first-year seminar are eligible to apply for First-Year Seminar Grants. - Visiting Artists Grants
Departments, programs, and centers are eligible to apply for Visiting Artists Grants. - Independent Creative Production Grants
Faculty (standing and non-standing) and staff are eligible to apply for Independent Creative Production Grants. - Extended Artist Engagement Grant
Departments, programs, and centers are eligible to apply for an Extended Aritst Engagement Grant. - Provosts Interdisciplinary Grants and Collaborative Provost Interdisciplinary Grants
Faculty (standing and non-standing), as well as departments, programs, and centers are eligible to apply for Provosts Interdisciplinary Grants and Collaborative Provosts Interdisciplinary Grants. For the latter, two partners will apply together. One must identify as being, or being a part of, an arts department, program, or center; the other must identify as being traditionally outside of the arts. - Student Engagement Grants
Departments, programs, and centers are eligible to apply for Student Engagement Grants. (Note: students will now apply to a separate category for their own projects)
Grant opportunities and eligibility may change year-to-year. Collaborations with individuals, groups, and organizations external to Penn are encouraged, and can presently be supported through a grant to a member of the Penn community.
