Artists, creative practitioners and scholars often require assistance in their work, whether it’s access to equipment, tech support, research support, printing, or other such services. The Sachs Program has compiled a list of services offered by the university for Penn students, faculty, and staff who are making, researching, and documenting things.

- Butler Assistive Technology Room
The Butler Assistive Technologies Room, a collaborative effort between the Weigle Information Commons and the Weingarten Learning Resources Center (VPUL), offers specialized technologies such as speech-to-text and text-to-speach software. - Common Press
The Common Press is Penn’s letterpress and book arts studio. The facility provides an environment where students can move between digital and manual image making, collaborating with writers, printmakers, designers, scholars, and others with an interest in printing. - David B. Weigle Information Commons and Education Commons
The Commons in Van Pelt Library give members of the Penn community access to equipment and instruction through the Vitale Digital Media Lab. - Fabrication Lab
The Fabrication Lab is available to all PennDesign students, and is equipped for all phases of woodworking, metalworking, and machining, as well as digital fabrication with CNC routing, laser cutting, and 3D printing. - Materials Library
Penn’s new Materials Library is a collection of physical materials ranging from innovative, new materials to those used in everyday construction and design. - Wharton Small Business Development Center
Wharton Small Business Development Center (WSBDC) is designed to help small entrepreneurial businesses in the Greater Philadelphia region start, grow and prosper.

- 3D Scanning
The Fisher Fine Arts Library has two 3D hand-held scanners for use by the Penn community. Anyone at interested must take an orientation to gain some basic familiarity. - Computer Labs
There are many computer labs located across campus for use by members of the Penn community. - Course Reserves

Penn Libraries provides a variety of items for use by the Penn community, including: video cameras, microphones, phone and laptop chargers, and audio recorders. - iPads
iPads are available for loan to Penn students, faculty, and staff at the Fisher Fine Arts Library. - Non-Penn Publication Borrowing
