Evaluation Process
The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation grant application evaluations are guided by our grantmaking criteria and are centered around a peer review process.
Annual and Student Grants
Peer committees will evaluate all Sachs Program Annual and Student Grant applications.
Evaluation committees will reflect a range of expertise, including expertise relevant to the application pool, and may include previous grant recipients, students, faculty, staff, alums, and community members. No committee member may evaluate applications in which they are directly involved.
Committees will discuss applications individually and in the context of the pool and may review work samples and other useful information during the discussion.
Sachs Program grantmaking criteria will guide all application evaluations.
Evaluating committee decisions will be shared with the Sachs Program Advisory Board. The Sachs Program Advisory Board may weigh in on any decisions not settled by the referring committee. The advisory board will also help determine how many projects can be funded in a given year, in accord with the Sachs Program annual grantmaking budget.
