Watermelon Book is an artists’ publishing project that aims to collect and amplify the voices and work of Palestinian artists, writers, and thinkers through the metaphor of the watermelon, a symbol for Palestinian existence and resistance (the watermelon’s red, black, and green emulates the Palestinian flag). The book, which subtly shares the colors of a watermelon, is both a document and resource, and will include archival material and new, commissioned work. The goal for the project is to one day encompass both a book and an interactive web component.
