Children's mural in Philadelphia public library.

Proposal for the Public Library Mural, by Grace Wan.

Grace Wan (C’22) will paint a mural for the children’s space at the Walnut Street West Public Library. The mural designs are centered around harnessing public space to empower and inspire children, nurture an early relationship with the creative arts, and ensure that children feel fully seen and welcomed in public spaces. This project was inspired by Wan’s interview with Walnut Street West Library’s children librarian Echo Phillips, which Wan conducted while taking Penn’s community service-based Mural Arts class.
