Conspi(racism) is a short (30 minute) film exploring the culturally specific roots and logics of conspiracy theorizing amongst Black Americans via glimpses of an intimate conversation at a listening party and an exploration of the archives of the crack epidemic. It is both an analysis of and a contribution to discourse surrounding conspiracy theories among Black folks. Engaging both the contemporary moment via conversations set in the present, and the past via an exploration of the archives, this film will jump through time to document and re-animate critical perspectives theorizing the conspiratorial inception of the crack epidemic.
