Casa, Tierra, y Liberación will be a four-day retreat where participants engage in themes of freedom, return, and worldmaking through cooking, farming, and documenting their experiences in a cookbook titled “Casa Materna” (maternal home). The retreat will be a space of creative experimentation; paying attention to embodied performances as ephemeral archives of taste through cooking and farming, with deep attention paid to taste, sound, smell, feeling, and sight as experienced through the flesh to meditate on notions of home, return, and liberation. Participants will document reflections, recipes, photos, and videos to create the “Casa Materna” Cookbook as the final outcome.
