During the information session, we’ll also reserve time for Walter Biggins, editor-in-chief of Penn Press, and Daniel Tucker, artist-in-residence at Penn Press, as recipients of a 2025 Artist Residency Grant, to discuss their experience applying for a Sachs Program grant and implementing their supported project.

2026 Artist Residency Grants

At the end of September 2025, the Sachs Program announced the opening of our 2026 grant cycle, with a December 19, 2025, deadline for 2026 Artist Residency Grant applications.

Sachs Program Artist Residency Grants support bringing artists, curators, and collectives to the University of Pennsylvania as artists-in-residence or curators-in-residence within a department, program, or center. Collaborations between departments, programs, or centers are also supported.

Including Artist Residency Grants, there are five categories of annual grant opportunities during our 2026 grant cycle.

  • Artist Residency Grants
  • Community Partnerships Grants
  • Curricular Support Grants
  • Independent Creative Production Grants
  • Project Support Grants

Grant opportunities specifically for Penn students are also offered through Sachs Program Student Grants.

Sachs Program grants support innovative arts activities throughout the University of Pennsylvania community, aligned with our mission to support and inspire creative practice and practitioners across the university and Penn’s extended community.

Complete information about our grant opportunities and application guidelines can be found on the Sachs Program website.
