2027 Sachs Program Student Grants Information Session

The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation will host an information session on Thursday, October 8, to discuss our 2027 Student Grants, including a review of the application process and general recommendations for crafting a successful proposal.
We’ll also reserve time for grantees Gevorg Ghazaryan (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, C’27), along with Timmy Straw (SAS ‘28) and Julia Pelosi-Thorpe (SAS ‘23, ‘29) of the Poets Who Translate community reading series, all recipients of 2026 Student Grant Awards, to discuss their experiences applying for a Sachs Program grant and implementing their supported projects.
This event is free and open to the University of Pennsylvania community. Lunch will be provided. Registration is requested but is not required to attend.

We’ll close the session with time for brief micro meetings, where applicants can meet with Sachs Program staff or a board member to discuss their application and ask questions. Meetings will last about 5 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up sheet will be made available at the beginning of the session.

2027 Sachs Program Student Grants
Near the end of September 2026, the Sachs Program announced the opening of our 2027 grant cycle, with a November 20, 2026, deadline for 2027 Student Grant applications.
Sachs Program Student Grants provide up to $3,500 to undergraduate and graduate students and student groups to support creative practices, including independent projects, thesis and dissertation-related work, programs, and initiatives that engage the student body or the broader public.
Sachs Program grants support innovative arts activities throughout the University of Pennsylvania community, aligned with our mission to support and inspire creative practice and practitioners across the university and Penn’s extended community.
