After Market is an artistic research project examining how platinum-group metals (PGMs) traverse overlapping formal and informal economies, from multinational mining operations in South Africa and Montana to catalytic converter theft rings, scrapyards, and trading floors. In this phase of the project, Noa Mori Machover translates interviews, footage, and fieldwork into material, sculptural, and spatial forms. This interdisciplinary work complicates traditional understandings of property, security and legitimacy, blurring the boundaries between sanctioned and illicit economies, revealing the unstable dynamics through which value is produced, lost, and reconstituted.
