Bahay Kultura is a Filipino American school in Philadelphia that allows children to experience and discover Filipino culture through play, language, history, and the arts to grow a deeper connection to their cultural identity. At Bahay Kultura, students and their families learn about Filipino culture & history, music & dance, and Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines. The program culminates in a celebration and performances where the students showcase the art, dances, and Tagalog language they learned. Special programming like traditional Filipino martial arts, book readings by local authors, and interactive dance showcases with Movemakers Philly, further engages their community, creating an ecosystem of learning. Through programs rooted in Filipino values of bayanihan (community) and pakikipagkapwa (shared humanity), Bahay Kultura creates spaces where individuals can reclaim their identities and share their stories.
