The Boy Who Couldn’t Hold What He Broke is a multimodal project, allowing Jai Ausir Vinson-Scott to explore his formative years as an African American, queer man in the Deep South, through different artistic mediums. Vinson-Scott’s practice integrates painting, photography, poetry, and personal essay. The Boy Who Couldn’t Hold What He Broke is an opportunity for Vinson-Scott to deepen his practice, and may culminate in a publication and accompanying exhibition.
