Jean-Christophe Cloutier will present a weekly initiative called “ComicsLab,” an innovative workshop and educational resource centered on the inimitable art of making comics. The workshop will be led by cartoonist Robert Berry who has been co-teaching “Making Comics” with Cloutier since 2015, and who has been working in comics for decades. “ComicsLab” will be a weekly workshop where students learn the art of making comics, from script ideas to finished product. At the same time, “ComicsLab” can be a space where local cartoonists and writers lead special workshop sessions, lectures, or simply present their past and current work. “ComicsLab” may also culminate in a public exhibition of student comics creations.
