Joshua Hey will develop and present a performance of his dissertation, “derendered”, an intermedia work for actress/vocalist, mixed chamber ensemble, electronics, lighting and video. It will be approximately 30 minutes long with a performance date in the late spring of 2020. “derendered” features a narrative that deals with themes of memory and forgetfulness and their influence on the construction of one’s identity. Through technology, which reproduces and distorts its material, the work addresses the subjective nature of experience.
