GRAIN: Gathering Rising Asian-American Imagination Narratives is a Philadelphia-based film and storytelling festival that centers Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) student filmmakers whose work challenges dominant narratives and addresses cultural invisibility. Developed in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania student groups, the Excelano Project and The Signal Society, as well as the Asian Pacific American Leadership Initiative at Penn, GRAIN Film Festival will be hosted at Penn’s Pan-Asian American Community House (PAACH). Screenings will be paired with facilitated post-film dialogue, as well as shared meals, creating critical space for conversations across AAPI communities on campus and in Philadelphia.
