Participatory Action Art Mentorship (PAAM) Program is a weekly after school program at William L. Sayre High School that offers high school students the opportunity to: explore and learn about animation and film production, architecture, and design; develop skills in using art software and explore various mediums through a series of projects; present their artwork (e.g. animated films, live-action films, architecture models, graphic designs) in end-of-semester exhibitions and art sales; and explore career opportunities by connecting with industry professionals. PAAM empowers high school students in West Philadelphia to become artists who create powerful art and narratives that make an impact on individuals, communities, and the global stage through the mediums of animation, architecture, and design. This project addresses the issue of inadequate and unequal education in West Philadelphia, particularly in the realm of education.
