Predictive Living is a dystopian product showroom with reimagined everyday objects for the near-future consumer. Set in the year 2050, the project envisions a future where ostensibly inert household items such as clothing hangers, a table lamp, and a trashcan evolve into intelligent tools that inevitably manage our lives for us. As a critical design project, the installation adopts the viewpoint of a tech company, spotlighting how these redesigned objects actively engage in personal data collection, aggregation, and manipulation. By igniting conversations around contemporary issues such as surveillance, privacy, and the commodification of data, Predictive Living aims to prompt deeper reflection on the pervasive influence of technology in our lives and how corporations can manipulate consumers in a hyper-capitalist, data-centric society—all under the guise of technological advancement.
