Saman Enn Og Aftur (Together Once Again) will be a feature length film that follows the lives of two Black people attempting to survive impossible conditions: Hans Jonatan, born enslaved in the Caribbean in the late 18th century, and Adeline, a Black woman from present-day Philadelphia who moves to Reykjavik, Iceland to escape the racial turmoil of the United States and her traumatic memories. For this project, Aliyah Jefferies will write a screenplay and create a proof-of-concept short film shot in Iceland and screened in Philadelphia. She will be working with Director of Photography, Cassidy Arrington and Dr. Gísli Pálsson, a former professor at the University of Iceland and the author of The Man Who Stole Himself: The Slave Odyssey of Hans Jonathan which inspired this project.
