Playful reimagination of bagasse (sugarcane waste) into temporary urban furniture.

BagasSeat Transforms local, organic, unavoidable waste from the Southeast Asian Market into a temporary, educational, and culturally engaging urban furniture system, contributing to a biomaterials revolution and challenging the permanence of our material world. Working with bagasse (sugarcane waste) generated by juice vendors, the project will involved designing a bagasse-based outdoor seating system at the Southeast Asian Market at FDR Park, a playful critique on traditional materials lifecycle challenging the concept of material permanence.
