Alan Zhang

Unraveling Hidden Stories is a multimedia project that investigates Chinese American identity and separation due to various physical, cultural, and/or linguistic barriers between Chinese Americans and their family members. Alan Zhang is the son of two Chinese American immigrants who came to the United States in the 1990s. Unraveling Hidden Stories is a project that stems from common experiences between his peers and himself as well as a desire for affirmation that these are not unique experiences. The project will incorporate photography, film, and writing based on interviews Zhang will conduct with Chinese American students from around the country.
