Stuart Weitzman School of Design to Honor Award RecipientsThe University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design has selected KPF cofounder A. Eugene Kohn as the 2019 recipient of the Kanter Tritsch Medal for Excellence in Architecture and Environmental Design, and the Regional Plan Association's (RPA) Fourth Regional Plan as the inaugural recipient of the Witte-Sakamoto Family Medal in City and Regional Planning.

Senior Shares His Experience Interning with Opera PhiladelphiaLeo Sarbanes joined Opera Philadelphia through Penn’s Summer Humanities Internship Program coordinated through the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships. He is working to create a curriculum guide for city public school teachers about September's annual opera festival, O19. “For a genre that doesn’t always seem the most relevant for the younger generation, it’s so important to show students that opera is as modern as it gets,” Sarbanes says.

Cinema Studies Professor Interviewed by Boise State Public Radio After Winning ‘1 Potato Award’The 1 Potato screenwriter award is given every year at the Sun Valley Film Festival. This year's winner is screenwriter and Penn Cinema Studies professor Scott Burkhardt, who wrote "Girls Are Strong Here." It's the story of a Syrian refugee whose faith is tested when an American teen and her mother are stranded at his car repair shop overnight. 11 Recent Graduates of the Master of Fine Arts Program Exhibit at Studio 10 in Brooklyn“Holding Pattern,” on display at Studio 10 through Aug. 9, is an exhibition featuring 11 recent graduates of the Stuart Weitzman School of Design’s MFA program and partly supported through funds from the MFA program of the Department of Fine Arts and The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation.
