    PennDesign and SP2 Offer Dual Master’s in Fine Arts and Social Work

    PennDesign has joined forces with the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) to offer the nation’s first dual master’s program in fine arts and social work, beginning this fall. The program will offer students the opportunity to earn both a Master of Fine Arts Degree and a Master of Social Work degree over three years of study.

    Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw Receives Ira H. Abrams Memorial Award for Distinguished Teaching

    Created in 1983, the Ira H. Abrams Award recognizes teaching that is intellectually challenging and exceptionally coherent and honors faculty who embody high standards of integrity and fairness, have a strong commitment to learning and are open to new ideas.

    Velocity Fund Applications Due to Temple Contemporary June 1

    In 2017, ​T​he Velocity Fund was established by Temple Contemporary at the Tyler School of Art ​with the support of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the​ Visual Arts becoming the 12th Regional Regranting Program nationwide. The Velocity Fund directly supports artists to organize ​new ​collaborative projects throughout the city of Philadelphia by awarding grants up to $5000. Applications are due June 1.

    The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation awarded its inaugural grants on April 24, 2018, and celebrated the public launch of its program with a performance by renowned filmmaker, artist, and provocative producer of culture John Waters.
