Bugsounds offers free recording of live, 15 minute sessions to active artists and bands, creating a digital archive of the West Philly music scene. The sessions are recorded, mixed and mastered professionally, and then released on bandcamp for streaming. They are also filmed, edited, and released on Youtube. Building on the blueprint of other cities’ live set recording projects like Audiotree and KEXP, Bugsounds is a Philly-specific archive, a snapshot of this moment in the city’s musical culture. Through Bugsounds, artists can release professionally produced music, boosting their careers while creating depth and resilience in the local music scene.
