Lisa Britton will conduct research for the course “Caves, Cathedrals, and Curiosities: Unearthing Stories on the Chemin des Dames in France,” within the collections of three cultural institutions in the Chemin des Dames region of France: Le Musée Franco-Américain du château de Blérancourt, Le Musée de Vassogne, and La Caverne du Dragon. “Caves, Cathedrals, and Curiosities: Unearthing Stories on the Chemin des Dames in France,” is a Penn Global Seminar that Lisa Britton is designing, anchored in object-based learning pedagogy and inviting students to explore how various collections in France offer insights into the experiences of individuals connected to the Chemin des Dames. The course will also examine contemporary initiatives related to commemorating and conserving these objects and experiences.
