Mauro Calcagno will offer a new iteration of his Baroque Opera course by bridging it with Meg Bragle’s opera Scenes course and integrating performance to the curriculum. The course will culminate in the production of opera scenes based on a shared topic, which will be produced in partnership with the Baroque Ensemble, directed by Gwyn Roberts, Penn Collegium Musicum, and the Opera at Penn initiatives. Students will develop acting skills and will be supported in experiencing live opera, including through an ongoing partnership with Opera Philadelphia.
