Evaluation Process
Curricular Support Grants, Project Grants, and Independent Creative Production Grants will be evaluated first by Committees and second by The Sachs Program Advisory Board.
Evaluating committees will reflect a range of expertise, including expertise relevant to the application pool, and may include previous grant recipients, students, faculty and staff. Each Committee will include a member or members of The Sachs Program Advisory Board. Committee members cannot evaluate applications in which they are involved.
Committees will discuss the applications, individually and in the context of the pool, and may review work samples and other useful information during the discussion.
The evaluation conversation will:
- Be driven by The Sachs Program’s priorities
- Take into account the criteria
Committee recommendations will be shared with The Sachs Program Advisory Board. It is the responsibility of The Sachs Program Advisory Board to make final decisions on which projects will receive support.
Artist Residency Grants applications will be evaluated directly by The Sachs Program Advisory Board, and not additionally by a Committee. The discussion amongst the board members will be driven by The Sachs Program’s priorities, will take into account the criteria, and will also take into account other potential resources available to the applicant for this work.
Student Grants will be adjudicated by Sachs Staff, and reviewed by Sachs Board Co-Chairs.
Ben Art Bucks Grants (currently paused) will be adjudicated by the Sachs staff.
First-Year Seminar Grants will be adjudicated by Sachs and College of Arts & Science staff.
Responsive Grant Opportunities will be adjudicated by select groups of Sachs staff, Board, and Community Advisors.
Rolling Grants will be adjudicated by Sachs Staff, and reviewed by Sachs Board Co-Chairs.
